Lagos, Nigeria — Monday 18-08-2025 – Boys in Focus, a youth-focused non-profit organization committed to the rehabilitation and empowerment of vulnerable young people, has reaffirmed its partnership with the Special Correctional Centre for Boys, Oregun, Lagos State, following a needs-assessment visit conducted over the weekend.
The visit underscored both the inspiring dedication of the center’s management and staff, as well as the urgent infrastructural and educational challenges that require immediate attention.
During the assessment, the Boys in Focus team observed pressing concerns such as dilapidated classroom ceilings, limited learning materials, and overcrowded facilities. Despite these challenges, the staff of the correctional center continue to work tirelessly, creating opportunities for restoration, learning, and character development for the boys under their care.
Speaking after the visit, Mr. Olufemi Oke of Boys in Focus commended the center’s management for their steadfast commitment to transforming lives despite the daily limitations they face. The organization also emphasized that the visit was not merely an inspection, but the beginning of a sustained intervention aimed at supporting the center through practical, targeted initiatives.
“Our visit has reinforced our belief that transformation is possible, one life at a time. At Boys in Focus, we remain committed to walking alongside the Special Correctional Centre in providing renewed opportunities for these boys through educational resources, mentorship programs, and capacity-building initiatives,” the statement read.
